I met Antony Todd in New York about 16 years ago, maybe more. He is a dear friend, a huge talent, and so much fun to work with. Booking our reception at a certain venerable club in NYC with many rules was a challenge. After returning from seeing the Milan collections and a drive-by at night to Corso Como I felt inspired to make the club look enchanting as well as had the idea to use bamboo. Anthony and I met at his shop and I immediately fell in love with everything.
I asked Antony to share his take on his design…”Knowing Amanda well, and visiting the club for her wedding party… I just knew it needed her boheme sexy mixed up point of view…. Towering bamboo immediately transformed the club, with a bounty of flowering branches and an eclectic mix of furniture pulled from my home store…. Presenting the new Mrs Bacon…. Super chic xxxx”
My husband is the ultimate cowboy so for little takeaways we created lavender bandanas with our names and our wedding date.
Laudree in NYC is one of my favorites so we had a tower of their macaroons.
Flowers are important in setting a mood. Antony’s team did a spectacular job in creating a warm and chic environment.
My advice when planning your wedding is to take the time to find the person who understands your taste and sensibilities. It’s worth it.
